Hey, I’m Steve Kelly — and I’m pretty sure my Blackstone has made me a better husband.
I’ve been a griller my whole life. Gas, charcoal, you name it — if there was fire involved, I was out in the backyard in East Hampton, CT making something happen. My buddies had been hyping up Blackstone griddles for years and I finally caved in April 2026.
Best decision I ever made.
The first thing I threw on it was sausage and peppers. Made grinders for the whole crew. My wife took one bite and looked at me like I’d been holding out on her for years. Maybe I had.
Here’s the thing about flat top cooking — it feels like cheating. Everything comes out right. The heat is even, the surface is massive, and somehow I haven’t screwed anything up yet. My cooking game went from “pretty good for a backyard guy” to “when are you making that again?” practically overnight.
I started The Flat Top Feed to share what I’m learning as I go — real recipes, honest takes, and zero pretension. I’m not a chef. I’m just a guy in East Hampton with a Blackstone, a cold drink, and two dogs named Bronco and Gunner waiting for whatever scraps hit the ground.
Pull up a chair. Let’s cook something good.
